As one of the UK’s most beloved independent festivals, Truck Festival has been bringing music lovers together since 1998 and has since evolved into a must-attend summer highlight. Featuring an exciting mix of indie, rock, and alternative music, Truck caters to all tastes - and now, you can be at the heart of it all as a Festaff volunteer.
The origins of Truck Festival’s name are the stuff of two competing legends. Some say it comes from the flatbed truck that served as the original stage, while founder Robin Bennett credits the influence of American long-distance trucking and the cult Kris Kristofferson movie Convoy. Whatever the truth, Truck was created to offer an authentic, community-driven alternative to commercial festivals, and always been about big sounds, big energy, and a whole lot of character.
This year’s lineup is stacked with incredible headliners, including Kasabian, Courteeners, Nothing But Thieves, Bloc Party, Blossoms, The Last Dinner Party, and Franz Ferdinand. But Truck isn’t just about the music – its village-fête-meets-festival atmosphere makes it a one-of-a-kind experience. Expect quirky entertainment, great food, and a welcoming crowd that makes this festival truly special.
Truck Festival also has a long-standing tradition of charitable fundraising, with early years’ proceeds going entirely to local causes. Today, the Rotary Club and other community groups still play a huge role in the event, helping raise almost £900,000 for good causes.
